About Adrian Alexander of New York
Born in 1946, Adrian Alexander of New York was originally born in Bucharest, Romania, and holds both U.S. and Italian citizenship. He emigrated from Romania to the United States in 1964 with his family after finishing high school.
Unfortunately, six months after arriving in the United States, Alexander’s father passed away. He took on the responsibility of supporting his mother and himself while also attending NYU Engineering School, graduating in 1970 with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering. Subsequently, he attended Harvard Business School (HBS), graduating with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 1972.
Although this was a difficult period for Alexander, he excelled at NYU and HBS while caring for and supporting his mother, who had become a widow in a new country. His fortitude and resilience in the face of adversity have helped Alexander succeed throughout his life and gain the confidence to achieve significant milestones in his career.
Alexander was recruited from HBS to Morgan Stanley & Co., where he worked for 3 years in investment banking; thereafter, he moved to Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb as VP of Mergers and Acquisitions.
From 1978 to 1983, Alexander worked for executive search firm Egon Zehnder in Milan, Italy, recruiting executives in Italy and other countries for multinational clients. Egon Zehnder operates globally in a large number of countries.
In fact, Alexander has, on average, spent one-third of his time in Italy over the last 50 years.
